Christmas Music and Cookies

What a busy but festive day! We began our morning by icing the cookies we made last night for today's cookie exchange -- we'll get to that below.  Then we slipped into our holiday best and headed to brunch so that Simone was fueled up for her performance at her winter recital.  She played Do You Hear What I Hear to a full house and did great!

Straight from the recital we darted up to Lovettesville for the annual cookie exchange at Patowmack Farm.

We met this couple in the parking lot and it turned out they were from Tony's hometown of Warren, OH.  It was very nice to chat with them over hot chocolate and cookies.

After the exchange, we raced to church for evening Mass and have finally landed back at home on this cold Sunday night.  Although it was busy, we had a terrific day that helped us remember what the holidays are all about.
